RiverheadLOCAL covers the Town of Riverhead, New York located on the East End of Long Island approximately 70 miles east of New York City.

This website was launched in January 2010 by Peter Blasl and Denise Civiletti, a husband and wife team of award-winning journalists who saw the need for authentically local online news in the Riverhead community.

RiverheadLOCAL’s mission is to provide accurate, timely local news for the community, to keep citizens informed about important issues, to tell the stories of the people who live and work here, and to give locally owned businesses the opportunity to reach a very targeted audience of local residents and tourists alike.
