Harbor Knoll sits on a gentle hill that leads to a private beach overlooking Shelter Island. The inn’s private dock is ideal for fishing and stargazing and makes it easy to board our lovely 28-foot sailboat.
Harbor Knoll is one of Greenport’s most historic homes. Boasting 10 bedrooms, the house was built in 1870 for a family from Georgia who moved north each summer to escape the southern heat. The gracious living of that time is suggested by the elegant flow of rooms that sends one into a relaxed state of mind. Previous owners of the home include a mayor of Greenport and the niece of General Custer.
