A fascinating new exhibit titled: ‘Undercover: Stories of Rum Running in Southold’ will be running all summer at the Nautical Museum at Horton Point Lighthouse!
The exhibit reveals some unexpected sites around town that were linked to the history of rum running; and it relays actual historical accounts from residents who recalled the era. While visiting you’ll see other exhibits that portray the rich maritime culture of the area, and the 58-ft. lighthouse tower will be open for those who want to climb to the top.
The museum, exhibit and tower will be open for tours weekends, 11:30-4:00 through mid-Sept.
Note: Add’l $5 town parking fee at lighthouse for non-residents.
